Billing and Collections Officer

IPSTAR Australia is looking for a Billing and Collections Officer based in our Perth office. You will have previous experience within an established telecommunications billing department. We are looking for a self driven individual who will take on this new role.

Responsibilities

  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments
  • Find and contact customers to ask about their overdue payments
  • Investigate historical data for each debt or bill
  • Preparation and delivery of our monthly customer bill run
  • Answer any inbound customer billing enquiries and resolving any payment issues
  • Conduct outbound collection calls/emails to negotiate payment arrangements with customers
  • Ensure new billable items are entered within the billing platform and unloaded usage/charges are managed
  • Reconciliation of customer payments
  • Review existing processes to automate them where possible and look for creating efficiencies in the business
  • Entering daily customer payments into the billing system
  • Running a variety of daily checks to ensure all automation is working correctly
  • Speaking directly to customers who overflow from the Customer Service queue
  • Setting up services in the billing system as per specs and ensuring rates and contracts are correct including overrides for special rates
  • Running trial and monthly bill runs
  • Sanity checking of bill runs and customer invoices
  • Enter and update all billing schedules
  • Identify any errors or discrepancies on billing matters
  • Ensure compliance to billing procedure
  • Liaise with internal partners and external clients in regards to billing issues and inquiries
  • Perform assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts team

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a similar billings/collections position within the telecommunications industry, with knowledge of PSTN, ISDN, SIP, ADSL, Ethernet, NBN, VoIP and mobile
  • Well-developed collections techniques and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of billing systems

Highly regarded, but not required, skills:

  • Familiarity with Genex, Amazon Connect and Zoho One
